ABOUT
The Epi & Stats Group is a peer-led learning forum established to create a collaborative space for researchers to learn about, discuss, and engage with epidemiological and quantitative research methodologies. Inspired by the success of the Zimbabwe Qualitative Research Network (ZQRN), the group was formed to strengthen quantitative research capacity through regular knowledge sharing, practical discussions, and peer-to-peer learning. Our sessions cover a broad range of topics, including epidemiology, biostatistics, study design, data management and analysis, and emerging quantitative methods. By bringing together researchers from different disciplines and levels of experience, the group provides an opportunity to explore methodological concepts, discuss real-world research challenges, and learn from one another in a supportive environment. The Epi & Stats Group officially launched on 15 June 2026 and is co-led by Dr Tafadzwa Madanhire, Dr Nyasha Dzavakwa, and Ms Michaela Takawira. Whether you are taking your first steps in quantitative research or are an experienced researcher looking to expand your skills, the Epi & Stats Group offers a welcoming space to ask questions, share knowledge, exchange ideas, and build confidence in applying quantitative methods to high-quality research. We believe that learning is most effective when it is collaborative, and we invite everyone with an interest in epidemiology and quantitative research to join us.
