THRU-ZIM Wellbeing Series turns up the heat

As part of its ongoing commitment to team health and wellness, THRU-ZIM added an extra boost of energy to its Wellbeing Series this March with Zumba with Zorro.

While the weekly lunchtime wellness walks have become a beloved part of the THRU-ZIM routine, this special session brought a new rhythm to the courtyard. Participants showed up dressed for the occasion. “This was the most fun I’ve had during a workout in ages,” said Tariro, an Admin Assistant. “Zorro made it feel like a party, not a fitness class—and I loved every minute of it.”


The mix of Afro-Latin-inspired choreography and cardio turned the space into a celebration of movement. “I didn’t realise how much I needed that,” shared Jack Stanley, one of the PhD students. “It was a great release, and doing it with colleagues made it even better.”

With the success of this first Zumba with Zorro session, the Wellbeing Series continues to grow—not just in scope, but in spirit.


“Zumba brought a fresh wave of energy to our wellness activities,” said Kate Mattick, the Wellbeing Series lead. “It’s been wonderful to see how the team connects through these moments. Wellness is not just about fitness—it’s about fun, community, and balance.
