We are delighted to celebrate Professor Rashida Ferrand, who has been awarded the prestigious Global Health EDCTP3 Outstanding Female Scientist Prize. This honour recognises her outstanding contributions to global health research and her unwavering commitment to advancing health equity.

Professor Ferrand’s work spans observational research, clinical trials, and implementation science—each underpinned by a focus on real-world impact and improving health outcomes, particularly in low-resource settings. Her research has shaped both national and international health policies, influencing how care is delivered across the life course.

Beyond her scientific achievements, Rashida is widely admired as a mentor, leader, and advocate for equity in science. Her ability to build collaborative, cross-disciplinary teams and nurture the next generation of researchers continues to leave a lasting mark on the global health community.

It is a privilege for us at the Health Research Unit Zimbabwe to work alongside Professor Ferrand. Her recognition is not only well-deserved, but a source of pride and inspiration for us all.

Congratulations, Rashida!
