We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Nyasha Dzavakwa successfully defended her PhD thesis with no corrections. Her research focused on treatment adherence among adolescents living with HIV in Harare, Zimbabwe, and the examiners were highly impressed by the depth and real-world relevance of her study.

In another significant achievement, Dr. Nyasha has been awarded a highly competitive postdoctoral fellowship with the Southern Africa Research Capacity Network (SOFAR), marking an exciting new chapter in her research career. During this fellowship, she will: Consolidate her PhD outputs and prepare a pilot study to support a future early-career award. Complete analyses of her digital adherence intervention trial and explore adherence patterns using machine learning approaches. Launch a pilot neuroimaging study investigating brain features associated with cognitive impairment in young people with perinatally acquired HIV
