We are thrilled to celebrate Professor Katharina Kranzer, Co-Director of THRU ZIM, who was awarded the EDCTP Women Scientific Leadership Prize at the twelfth EDCTP forum, held in Kigali, Rwanda from 15–20 June 2025.
This prestigious award recognises Professor Kranzer’s exceptional contributions to research on poverty-related infectious diseases and her outstanding leadership in building research capacity across sub-Saharan Africa and Europe. Her work continues to advance scientific knowledge while strengthening collaborative systems that improve health outcomes in resource-limited settings.
At THRU ZIM, we are proud to be guided by such visionary leadership. This award is a powerful reminder of the value of equitable partnerships and the importance of championing women in science and global health.
We also extend our heartfelt congratulations to all other EDCTP award recipients whose dedication continues to shape the future of health research.
