Background
TSIME - which translates to a “well” in Shona, to refer to the coming together of services that are accessed in a single place, is a mixed methods complex intervention development study. The study aims to use Experience-Based Co-Design (EBCD) to develop an integrated package of SRH and HIV services together with people living with HIV (PLWHIV), healthcare providers and key stakeholders in public health clinics in Zimbabwe.
Study aim(s)
This project aims to adapt EBCD to develop a clinic-based integrated package of
SRH and HIV services with healthcare providers, PLWHIV and other key stakeholders in
Zimbabwe.
Study design
A multi-disciplinary research team will lead an iterative process to develop an integrated SRH and HIV intervention based on theory of change informed by EBCD conducted in the Mazowe District of Mashonaland Central Province. The process will involve conducting a situational analysis to understand the context and PLWHIV and healthcare providers’ experiences of delivering and accessing existing HIV services and the evidence-base for developing an integrated package of services; using participatory action research and theory of change approaches to co-design an integrated package of services with PLWHIV, healthcare providers and key stakeholders; and conducting a feasibility study to test the intervention on a small scale in one public health clinic setting.
This complex intervention development study is designed to respond to the local context, while providing a proof of concept for a larger study, to implement and evaluate a post- doctoral intervention to maximize transferability and scale-up.
